Third Step - Tilting the Panels into Place - Tilt-up Construction!

 

The tilt-up construction panels - also called tiltup or tiltwall construction panels - are massive; this panel at a warehouse building project weighs about 50,000 pounds. tilt-up panel - also called tiltup or tiltwall panel - is lifted into place on this commercial construction project.
The tilt-up panels are poured into forms that provide the exact size, shape and door openings to meet the design specifications. The panels can be massive; this tilt-up panel weighs about 50,000 pounds. The largest panel used for a tilt-up construction project weighed six times as much, over 150 tons.

The moble crane lifts the tilt-up panel and tilts it into position over the footing. The row of panels already in place give evidence to just how fast the process for putting up tilt-up panels goes. An experienced crew can tilt up as many as 30 panels a day.
